Guided tour of an historical Millstone |

The tour, guided by an expert sicilian
sommelier, will drive you back in the centuries where in this monumental
site (the biggest on Etna) hundred people used to work restless from dawn
to dusk.
An incredible step back in our past to better understand how much the
vine cultivation and wine production affected life and culture of the
Etna people.

The property is accessed by
a small iron gate, the narrow driveway leads to the area overlooking an ancient
building that encloses an unimaginable treasure: in two separate sections, below
the level of the floor, two ancient tombs millstones, with tanks stone, terra cotta
or channels dug into the hard basalt. The vineyards of Mount Etna are the last to be
harvested. The wine-making, in order to preserve their organoleptic integrity is immediate.
The pressing of white grapes and the rasping and grinding of red grapes are produced with
the latest design of processing facilities in order to preserve the unique characteristics
of a raw material freshly picked from the plant. The aging of red wines in casks of French oak,
in a room with constant temperature and humidity. Complete the productive structure of the
machining area dedicated to the classic method.

A taste of four Etna wines
served with a selection of local delicacies, guested by this family, at
Pettodragone estate, based company will being familiar with the current
processes of production and how these people continue nowadays to turn
their passion in quality wines.

Tips for the excursion: |

It is suggested to wear
summer clothes and a sweatshirt or a light coat. Also bring your bathing
suit and a beach towel. Always wear comfortable clothes and walking shoes
that are appropriate to hard grounds, never wear sandals or flip flops.
If you don't have trekking shoes or sneakers This is Etna will provide
you appropriate ones on request. Renting the shoes is included in the
excursion price.
If you are sensitive to the sun don't forget to bring sunscreen.
Pick up:
-we pick you up for free at your accommodation in Catania at about 9:00 a.m;
-if you are staying out of Catania we will organize a meeting point
according to your needs.
